Espresso Primo is our classic espresso blend that's balanced, rich, and smooth. It's the classic blend we started Dawson Taylor with and it remains unchanged after 32 years.
Pulled properly, it has a dark golden crema and a thick syrupy body. It offers depth and intensity without the bitterness. This blend is crafted for those who appreciate espresso that holds up well to milk and makes a great base for lattes and cortados or an rich and bold americano.

Expresso Primo is my absolute favorite! I am trying other roasts and so far Guatemala La Basa is my 2nd fav. I love the smooth earthy profile with the hints of caramel and cantaloupe. I love what you guys are doing with coffee!

We found Dawson and Taylor while on a road-trip driving through Winnemucca Nevada. We stopped at a cafe with amazing coffee. We found out the coffee came from Boise Idaho and was Dawson and Taylor. I believe that was six years ago. We’ve had it delivered to our home in San Francisco ever since.

We love Dawson Taylor coffee! We have been drinking it for over 20 years. We have the Espresso Primo beans delivered to our home. We even take our espresso machine with us when we travel in our Van so we can have our DT!

We have been drinking Dawson Taylor espresso primo coffee since Dawson (son) was 4 years old!! Yes we have tried other brands but always remain faithful to this coffee. NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!
I love the Espresso Primo. I order and have it shipped to me as unfortunately, I don't have any retailers near me. It pulls a great shot with my small, home espresso machine. My biggest concern is the last couple times I've ordered, one of my 1lb bags came ground, extremely fine like powdered sugar. It was basically unusable. I reached out to support the second time, within the 15 day requirement. The individual that I corresponded with that "Primo is meant to be ground as needed when pulling espresso shots. We can continue to grind this for you but there is no guarantee it will be consistent." That second part.... that the grind cannot be guaranteed is troubling. Is there a quality assurance check to make sure it is an espresso grind? I really don't want to order and get a product that I am unable to use. Other than that concern, I love the coffee and hope that I can get the product I order, shipped to me.
